Saturday 8th July 2017


HCC v Warfield  (League)



    Hawley travelled to Warfield and fielded first, bowling the opposition out for 149. The wickets were shared by Dan Litwin (2-41), Tom Heighes (4-40), Leigh Wilson (2-28), Sam Heighes (1-21) and Steve Thompson (1-13).

Hawley's chase was anchored by Graham Freakes 49 not out, with Tom Heighes' 23 and Nave Karm's 18 also useful contributions as Hawley reached the target with 14 overs to spare.

Well done Hawley, a great start to the 2nd half of the season!

HCC v Waltham St.Lawrence  (League)



  Hawley fielded first in their home game v Waltham St Lawrence, eventually bowling them out for 235. Tom Heighes (3-26), Sam Heighes (3-64), Leigh Wilson (2-71) and James Adams (1-29) were our wicket takers.

In reply, Hawley reached a strong position of 196-5 after 34 overs before the rain came. Our main run scorers were Graham Freakes (48), Wesley Kendrick (45) and Tom Heighes (55).

Slightly unfortunate to miss out on a chance of victory, but we've maintained a solid start to the season to remain 4th in the table.

HCC v Stratfield Turgis  (League)


 Hawley travelled away to play Stratfield Turgis and batted first. After the loss of 3 early wickets, Tom Heighes (97) and Arthur Richer (57) put on a 169 run partnership in 28 overs to set the foundations for some middle order hitting in the later overs from James Adams (37) and Sam Heighes (22). Hawley finished on 270-9 off 45 overs.

Stratfield Turgis played for the draw reaching 217-6. Dan Chuckie Litwin (1-39), Tom Heighes (1-51), Leigh Wilson (1-19) and Swaroop Panigrahi (3-32) were the wicket takers as Hawley put in a good shift in the field but not quite enough to bowl them out, so the result was our 3rd winning draw of the season.




Saturday 13th May 2017


HCC v Earley   (League)


Hawley travelled to Earley yesterday in the Berkshire Cricket League. Hawley were put into bat and posted 177-7 in 45 overs thanks to Graham Freakes's 78. SP Panigrahi (29), Tom Heighes (19*) and Dan Litwin (16) all provided useful runs in getting us to a competitive score.

In reply, Earley made 162-7 in 45 overs, meaning a winning draw was the result. Dan Chuckie Litwin (1-34), Leigh Wilson (1-20) and SP Panigrahi (4-12) were the wicket takers for us.

Well done Hawley for maintaining the unbeaten start to the league season.

HCC v Waltham St.Lawrence  


Hawley travelled away to Waltham St Lawrence. After winning the toss, Hawley batted first. We posted 286-6 in 40 overs, on the back of Ben Harris's 151 not out, supported by Arthur Richer with 46 and guest player Chris Cooke with 39.

Hawley restricted Waltham to 210-4 in 40 overs to seal the victory. Arthur Richer (2-19), Sam Heighes (1-35) and Tom Heighes (1-53) were the wicket takers.

Well done all Hawley players for continuing the winning ways from last Sunday and the league game yesterday.

HCC v Warfield  (League)


Hawley played Warfield today in the first game of new Berkshire Cricket League Season, winning the toss and electing to field first.

Warfield were all out for 82 in 21 overs, thanks largely to a clinical bowling display from Dan Chuckie Litwin with 8-31. Skipper Tom Heighes picked up 2-42 at the other end.

Hawley reached their target of 83 to complete a 6 wicket win inside 17 overs, number 4 Dan Wilson top scoring with 37 not out.

Well done Hawley for getting an important first league victory of the new season!

Hawley CC v Wimbledon


Hawley played Wimbledon United today in their first home game of the season.

Hawley elected to bat first, with both openers reaching half centuries; Ben Harris (51) and Mike Tiley making a career best 77. Arthur Richer also scored 35 as Hawley posted 208-8 from 35 overs.

Tom Heighes led the way with 5-35, Sam Heighes took 2-28, SP Panigrahi 1-12 and Reece Wilson 1-25 as Hawley bowled Wimbledon out for 138 to win by 70 runs, well done everyone for getting the first win of 2017.

Hawley CC  v Crowthorn & Crown Wood


HCC were unlucky today against Crowthorne & Crown Wood CC.
Fielding 10 after a last minute drop out, A fine bowling display restricted C&CWCC to 177.
The wickets were spread evenly between four bowlers.
Tom Heighes took 3-28. SP with 3-39. Sam Heighes took 2-37 and Reece Wilson with 2-11.
HCC were spirited with the bat and managed 144 in reply.
Arthur Richer top scored with 32. Other notable scores were Tom Heighes with 25 and Mike Tiley with 24.
The game was a good start and signs are there for a successful season, especially with the ball.
